Thread Horizon

In the fog-veiled landscapes of the Swiss Alps, two man-made devices float in silence: a cable car and a pair of zipline riders with mechanical wings. These aerial machines, suspended by wires stretched across the sky, form thin scars of human invention over vast natural quiet. Here, elevation is not only topographic; it’s technological. The gondola, a symbol of Alpine precision and order. The zipline wings, a fleeting performance of control and thrill. Together, they hover not just above ground, but above certainty, rhythm, and scale. Suspended Machinery examines how engineered systems intersect with wilderness, and how flight, in Switzerland, is no longer a myth, but an infrastructural reality.
